Inspiring new conversations.

Capturing Social Media Today's #SocialShakeup, Atlanta

06 Case study

Q: How to share and embed learning across 600 delegates using the power of social media to inspire new conversations?

A: #Digital Scribing

Social Media Today asked us if we could capture the keynote speeches at The Social Shakeup Conference in Atlanta. They had two big wishes; the scribing to hook up to their technology platforms in real time, and the visual content to be a hook that engages the delegates during and after the conference.

Ludic Online already had a technology platform in place that could power the web based sharing that Social Media Today required. Ludic Creatives thinking was around how the platform could interact directly with the participants so knowledge could be shared and an authentic human connection could be made via social media.    If posting pictures increases audience engagement on social media by up to 35% (Source: Twitter) we knew our approach was to maximise the power of the storyboard to embed learning, capture the big picture and help facilitate discussion and networking.

Ludic Online adjusted the online gallery so it could be powered within Social Media Today's conference web page and easily function with other social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. All the delegates could see the live scribing on a big screen in the conference room and watch as the scribe captured key ideas. After the speech had finished, the scribe images were uploaded to the online gallery for the delegates to access via their mobile devices in coffee breaks and cocktail networking events.

We also set-up a small team of tweeters to tweet the content in real time from the online gallery so the delegates could carry on the conversation globally and share the learning with their followers. This created a buzz around the content, conversations flowed and new friends were made. A month on from the conference, the content is still being shared and the conversations continue...

Example of the scribe style used:

We partnered with Ludic Creatives to provide a digital scribe for our event, The Social Shake-Up, and we were incredibly pleased with the results. The resulting scribe outputs were a huge hit at our event and provided a dynamic, visual, and humorous overview of the content discussed at the conference. The team at Ludic is a pleasure to work with, professional, collaborative, and responsive every step of the way.
